Rays Rout Blue Jays To Complete Sweep

The Tampa Bay Rays (26-26) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (25-27) 13-0 on Saturday afternoon at Steinbrenner Field. With the win, the Rays have now swept the three-game series against Toronto and have won five in a row.

Brandon Lowe hit a two-run homer in the first, but the Rays offense really came to life late. The Rays scored seven runs in the fifth and four in the seventh to turn this game into a blowout.

Ryan Pepiot (3-5, 3.55) pitched seven shutout innings in which he allowed just three hits while striking out five and walking one to pick up the win.

The Rays now host the Minnesota Twins for a three-game series beginning on Monday night. First pitch Monday is scheduled for 7:05 PM - Chris Adams-Wall begins pregame coverage at 6:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
