Florida is home to endless natural vistas, scenic locations, and charming small towns that exist as stray map dots off the beaten path of highways to urban jungles.
These alluring locations are often hidden gems, enjoyed by locals and visitors looking for peace away from the city. Small towns boast a slower pace of life, unique local culture, a strong sense of community, and, sometimes, a lower cost of living.
While there are hunters of small towns scattered throughout Florida, only one is revered as the best!
According to a list compiled by World Atlas, the best small town in Florida is Seaside. This charming locale houses welcoming residents, quaint shops, and offers plenty of beautiful outdoor experiences without the traffic and crowds.
Here's what World Atlas had to say about the best small town in the entire state:
"Seaside is an idyllic seaside destination nestled in the Florida Panhandle. Revered for being one of America’s first communities designed on the environmentally friendly New Urbanism principles, it is the embodiment of good cheer. Venturing through the well-maintained streets is a treat as the sun bounces off lovely pastel homes and mansions. If these sights seem familiar, it's because Seaside was the filming location for the movie "The Truman Show" starring Jim Carrey. You can feel like a film star under the Emerald Coast’s sunlight. Moreover, there are plenty of amazing art galleries shops such as Sundog Books and Fusion Art Glass & Fine Jewelry Gallery with splendid creativity to indulge in."
