Angels Rout Rays To Win Series

The Los Angeles Angels (8-4) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (5-7) 11-1 on Thursday afternoon at Steinbrenner Field. With the win, the Angels won the three-game series from the Rays, who have now lost six of their last seven.

The Angels erupted for an eight-run fifth inning to run away from this game. Taylor Ward, Mike Trout and Jo Addell each had two home runs for the Angels in their offensive explosion. Zack Littell (0-3, 6.88) took the loss for the Rays after allowing seven earned runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking one.

The Rays remain at home and will host the Atlanta Braves for a three-game series beginning on Friday night. Taj Bradley (1-0, 4.91) is scheduled to start the series on Friday for Tampa Bay.
