The Baltimore Orioles (42-22) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (31-34) 9-2 on Sunday afternoon at Tropicana Field. The Orioles have now won three in a row with a chance to clinch the four game series on Monday night.
Baltimore got single runs in the third, fourth and sixth to build a 3-0 lead before the Rays got on the board. Tampa Bay got a pair in the bottom of the sixth to pull within 3-2, but that would be as close as the Rays would get.
Baltimore got two in the seventh before Adley Rutschman hit a grand slam in the eighth to pull away to a 9-2 victory.
The Orioles will now try to sweep the Rays in a four game series coming up on Monday night. First pitch Monday is scheduled for 6:50 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
