TAMPA -- A small plane made an emergency landing in the median of Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (SR 581) near I-75.
The plane is a single seater used in mosquito control.
News Channel 8's Eagle 8 pilot Paul Lamison says the pilot did a remarkable job putting the plane down without a crash or damage on the ground, especially given that there are light poles close by. The only damage appears to be a blown tire.
Tampa police are investigating the incident and traffic is slowing down at the site of the crash.
