Michelin Introduces Guide for Miami, Orlando, Tampa

TALLAHASSEE -- It will soon be possible for Florida restaurants to earn a star in the Michelin Guide.

The tire manufacturer's guides to dining and lodging are known around the world, having been around more than a century in Europe It's signed a partnership with Visit Florida and local agencies Visit Orlando, Visit Tampa Bay and the Greater Miami CVB, to introduce "The MICHELIN Guide Miami, Orlando and Tampa."

A statement from the Guides' international director, Gwendal Poullennec, calls our state's gastronomy "unique, diverse and intriguing."

Visit Florida CEO Dana Young says it gives Florida the opportunity to highlight its "unexpected culinary adventures" including local produce, fresh seafood and unique fusion (dishes)."

Michelin already produces a guide to Florida hotels.
