Pinellas Park Police Look for Hit & Run Driver in Deadly Crash

PINELLAS PARK -- Police here are looking for their second hit and run driver in a serious crash this week.

This time, the crash caused the death of a pedestrian, at U.S. 19 and Mainlands Boulevard. Police say 63-year-old Gary Boisvert was struck around 8:00 Wednesday night and died at a local hospital.

Boisvert, police say, was in a wheelchair crossing against the light at a pedestrian crossing. They say the suspect car was traveling south and sped up to catch a yellow light. It struck Boisvert and his wheelchair and left without waiting for law enforcement. They believe it's a white compact sedan or hatchback with heavy front end damage.

Pinellas Park police are also investigating a pedestrian hit and run crash Sunday morning at US 19 and 62 nd Avenue North, in which a woman was struck and injured by a gold car, possibly a Toyota.

Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to them or to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-973-TIPS.

Meantime, St. Petersburg police have found the vehicle in a fatal hit and run last Sunday in their city, but are still trying to identify the driver.

58-year-old Hollis Heatherly died while crossing 1st Avenue North at 16th Street around 9:30 p.m. She was struck by a small black sports car with damage on its left.
