ST. PETERSBURG -- Wednesday's mayoral debate between candidates Robert Blackmon and Ken Welch has been postponed.
News Channel 8, the debate presenter, says Welch came down with COVID-19 this week. The former Pinellas commissioner offered to do the debate virtually but Blackmon said he wanted an in-person debate.
No makeup date has been announced. Blackmon and Welch will face each other in the November 2nd general election to succeed Rick Kriseman.
