Teenager Shot to Death in Bartow Park

BARTOW -- Polk deputies have a $5000 reward posted on Crime Stoppers, for information leading to the man who shot and killed a 17 year old trying to make a drug deal at a playground near Bartow Monday evening.

Sheriff Grady Judd says several men showed up before shots were fired at Taigur Taguri, in what he describes as an "absolute ambush", but he believes there was only one gunman. "So let me ask those of you who didn't fire a gun. Do you want to be a witness to a first degree murder... or do you want to be a co-defendant?"

According to the only known witness, a girl who was with Taguri, he was going to Gordon Heights Park near the Bartow airport to sell some marijuana. Judd says the young men who confronted him were black and close to Taguri's age.

For more information about the reward, call Heartland Crime Stoppers at 1-800-226-TIPS (8477). Tips are anonymous.
