UPDATE: Marvel-Themed Artificial Leg Found in St Petersburg

Here is an update from St. Petersburg police. The original copy follows:

After the widespread social media/media coverage of the missing prosthetic leg, someone called in and told us where to find it. Our officers just found it behind a local laundromat hidden among some discarded items and returned it to the victim's wife, (around 3:30 this afternoon). (Photo Below)

ST. PETERSBURG -- It adds insult to the pain felt by the victim and his family, and would make a case worthy of intervention by Captain America, Spider-Man, and perhaps the entire Marvel Universe.

Monday night, St Petersburg police tell us 49-year-old Christopher Allen Harris was crossing Fifth Avenue North at 49th Street in the crosswalk, when he was struck by a westbound car. He was taken to Bayfront Health hospital in critical condition. When he was struck, his prosthetic leg... covered in custom-decorated Marvel characters including Captain America, the Incredible Hulk and others... went flying into another car. Both drivers stopped, but in the confusion it appears the leg was stolen.

The customized leg is worth $15,000 and the family would like it returned. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Police don't think alcohol or drugs factored into the crash.
