A Florida man is getting prison time for tying up his wife's lover and cutting off his penis with a pair of scissors, according to WKMG.
On July 14, 2019, the victim called 911 to report that 51-year-old Alex Bonilla broke into his home, according to the Gilchrist County Sheriff's Office. The victim claims Bonilla, who is his neighbor, held him at gunpoint and threatened to kill him if he tried to resist, deputies said.
Bonilla then forced the victim into the bedroom, tied him up and “forcefully cut off the victim’s penis with a pair of scissors," authorities said. The 51-year-old reportedly took the severed appendage and ran back to his own home.
"Deputies never revealed a motive for the crime but said Bonilla had discovered the victim having sex with his wife about two months prior," reporters wrote.
Bonilla entered a plea of no contest in February on charges of kidnapping to inflict bodily harm, burglary while armed, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison for his crime, and he will serve 10 years of probation. The 51-year-old was also ordered to pay more than $251,000.
