Tampa Electric Gets New Boss

TAMPA -- Tampa Electric's next president and CEO will be Archie Collins. Parent company Emera, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, announced that he'll take on the president's job now and move into the CEO post in May.

In a news release, Collins say he hopes to shape a "cleaner, greener" future for the utility. He's been at TECO since 2018 since arriving as part of Canadian-based Emera's acquisition of the utility. He's held previous posts at Nova Scotia Power and power companies in the Caribbean.

He succeeds retiring CEO Nancy Tower.
