Pinellas School Board Asks for Employee Priority on COVID-19 Vaccines

LARGO -- The Pinellas County School Board wants all employees vaccinated against coronavirus.

Board members voted unanimously to send a letter to Governor Ron DeSantis, asking him to put teachers on the priority list for COVID-19 shots.

Board member Laura Hine described teachers as "essential workers" and reminded the board that state funding is tied to keeping schools open.

Currently shots are available to seniors over 65 and first responders.
