Just six months after Contigo recalled 5.7 million kid's water bottles for a "potential choking hazard," the company has issued a voluntary recall notice for the replacement lids due to the same issue.

According to a notice posted to the Consumer Product Safety Commission's website, Contigo has issued a voluntary recall on its Contigo Kids Cleanable water bottles and replacement lids that were sent to consumers following the recall last August.

"Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled water bottles and the replacement lids provided in the previous recall, take them away from children, and contact Contigo for a free water bottle," Contigo writes in the recall notice. "Consumers who received replacement lids in the previous recall should contact Contigo for the new water bottle."

The company says they've received 427 reports of the spout detaching, which also included "27 spouts found in children's mouths."

More than 5.7 million water bottles were sold nationwide in stores like Costco, Walmart, Target and other stores nationwide and online on various websites from April 2018 through February 7, 2020. The bottles are printed with Contigo on the rim and along the front near the bottom of the bottle. The recalled bottles come in 13-, 14-, and 20-ounce sizes and has a black base and cover, the notice states.
