Man Catches Huge Grouper off Florida Coast

Check out this massive 350-pound Warsaw grouper that was caught off the southwest coast of Florida.

According to WFLA News, "The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the 350-pound Warsaw grouper was caught on December 29 in 600 feet of water."

The fisherman caught the grouper by hook-and-line, and hooking a fish this size beneficial because it will be extremely valuable to get samples from an older fish.

In a Facebook post by FWC Fish and Wildlife Research Institute,"Biologists from FWRI's Age & Growth Lab estimated the age of this fish at 50 years old, making this the oldest sample collected for our aging program."

However, it is not recommended that you set out to catch a Warsaw grouper since the population of the fish is unknown.
