Laura Spence, STEM Specialist for K-12 for Pinellas county schools, and Indea DeVore student/Ambassadors joined AM Tampa Bay to discuss the Pier Ambassador Program.
The Pier Ambassador program was designed by the Pier Education Advisory Team (PEAT) to provide special opportunities for students in the 10thand 11thgrades to volunteer and act as communication corps that assists with Pier special events and activities.
The initial group includes a diverse group of students, from a variety of schools in St. Pete.
The Pier Ambassadors will go through a series of monthly training sessions, with City administrators, the Pier architects, and the Pier team as well as a special access tour in February, 2020
Once the Pier open in Spring 2020 the group of Ambassadors will be able to help answer questions, severe as guides and assist in other various ways.
