Colonel Cary Harbaugh joined AM Tampa Bay to discuss how he is assisting Veterans and wounded warriors in life- what are the challenges - what are the health issues they're facing - how are we addressing them in society?
Here are some of the nonprofits that Colonel Cary Harbaugh has worked with:
- Jan Stephenson's Crossroads Foundation (mission is to provide our disabled veterans and first responders with the tools they need to move forward in life. Golf allows them to challenge themselves both mentally and physically which results in a stronger mind, body and spirit.)
- Special Operations Warrior Foundation (scholarships for Gold Star kids)
- Veterans Alternative (working against TBI and PTS impacts with retreats, along with supporting Transition to civilian employment)
- Brian Bill Foundation (SEAL Gold Star Dad, Scott Bill, runs retreats and activities that help our warriors deal with stress)
- Operation Healing Forces (helps heal marriages that are strained by military service - combat impacts on relationships)
- Task Force Dagger (retreats and need-based financial support)
- Homes Fit for Heroes (no-cost housing for warriors and families going through protracted hospital stays - along with needs-based support)
