STUDY: Florida Is The 2nd Least Gambling-Addicted State

A new study by WalletHub looks into 2019’s Most Gambling-Addicted States and revealed that Florida is the 2nd least gambling-addicted state.

There are different types of gamblers "social" or "recreational" will occasionally grab a lotto ticket when they're at the gas station or place a small beta at a casino.

But the difference between "social" gamblers and having a gambling disorder and are addicted to playing.

However, addiction can have serious economic consequences.

U.S. consumers experienced over $100 billion per year in gambling losses.

To figure out the 2019's Most Gambling-Addicted States WalletHub's Methodology was based on a point system.

WalletHub compared the 50 states across two key dimensions, “Gambling-Friendliness” and “Gambling Problem & Treatment.”

Then evaluated the two dimensions and using 20 relevant metrics.

The metrics were graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 was how much one depends on gambling and then determined each state’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate the overall score.
