GIBSONTON (WFLA News) -- Hillsborough deputies arrested a man they say got into an argument with his father... and stabbed the family DOG.
The sheriff's office says Robert Abbott Junior, 34, of Gibsonton grabbed a knife during the confrontation Saturday at a home on 10013 California Street, and went after the pit bull mix, causing severe injuries. When deputies arrived, they say Abbott had barricaded himself in a bathroom. Negotiators got him out without any other injuries to man or beast. The dog received emergency veterinary services.
Abbott faces charges of aggravated animal cruelty and resisting arrest without violence.
