BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) - ABrooksville woman set aside her fears to rescue a thirsty snake after it got its head stuck in a beer can on the side of the road.
Rosa Fond tells News Channel 8 she was driving on Perimeter Road when she spotted the black racer snake in distress.
"I couldn't let her die. I know in this area, if someone gets a hold of that, they will probably torture the animal,"said Fond, who owns Humans and Animals United Rescue.
Fond got out of her vehicle and tried to free the reptile as she recorded video of the rescue on her cell phone and two small dogs ran out of a nearby home to watch.
"I gotta save a snake!Oh God, I don't know how I'm going to do this!"Fond is heard saying in the video.
After several minutes of prodding and breaking a nail, Fond was able to free the snake from the can.
