Biker in Wimauma Dies After Hit-And-Run Crash

Wimauma, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - A vehicle passing in a no-passing zone collided with a motorcycle Saturday and drove off, leaving the bike's rider fatally injured and its passenger with serious injured, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jeffrey Ringle, 48, of Wimauma rode north on US-301 south of Sun City Center Blvd. shortly before 10:30 a.m. when he crashed into a vehicle passing a line of trafffic in a no passing zone, according to a crash report from the FHP.

The impact threw Ringle and his passenger, Megan Ringle, onto the roadway shoulder. The vehicle kept going. Both Jeffrey and Megan, 45, were taken to an area hospital, where Jeffrey died and Megan was in serious condition Sunday morning, the crash report said.
