Rush Hour Crash on I-75 in Tampa Kills Driver, Blocks Road

Tampa, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - A blown tire caused a fatal crash that closed Interstate 75 during Friday afternoon rush hour, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Anthony Malangone, 43, lost control after a tire of his Isuzu Trooper went out in the northbound lanes of I-75 just north of Bruce B. Downs Blvd. around 4:30 p.m., according to an FHP crash report. Malangone went off the road, overcorrected, veered back across the road, and his vehicle flipped over, the crash report said. He died at the scene. The wreckage blocked northbound lanes of the Interstate.
