Welcome back the Boys of Summer

It's the start of a whole new season for the Tampa Bay Rays. The weather is perfect, so tailgating is encouraged as the parking lots open at noon. Gates open at 2 p.m.

Inside The Trop, there are a few changes. There are fewer seats in the upper deck. More social spaces and restaurants that serve everything from Cuban fare to southern fried chicken to sushi and gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches.

Of course, it's all about what will take place on the field. The Rays host the Houston Astros. And Rays skipper Kevin Cash says it's Houston's Justin Verlander versus the Rays' Blake Snell.

"Without a doubt, Verlander-Snell? I mean, that might be the most highlighted pitching match up on opening day," said Cash. "It'll be fun to watch!"

The first pitch is at 4 o'clock to begin the Rays' first four-game series of the season. You can hear the game live on our sister station 620 WDAE.
