Tampa,Fl.-(NewsRadio WFLA)-A teenager is hurt after a deputy-involved shooting in Hillsborough county. The 17-year-old was shot last night at the Jasmine Terrace Apartments on Skipper Road.
Deputies responded to the scene for a domestic violence call, and the sheriff says the deputy identified a suspect who walked away from the scene. He later spotted a man walking along Skipper Road who matched the description of the suspect. During an encounter with the person on the side of the road, Deputy Daniel Estanislau used deadly force.
The teen is in critical condition. According to the sheriff's office report, detectives did not find a weapon at the scene.
Two people identified as victims were injured at the scene of the domestic violence, including one with a laceration to the head. The names of the victims has not been released due to Marcy's law.
The name of the 17 year old is being witheld by the sheriff's office because he is a minor.
