Citrus County, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - Divers searching through waters with "zero visibility" Saturday recovered the body of a man missing since Wednesday, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said. George Kiggans, 66, had not been seen since about 2 p.m. March 20 in the vicinity of his home on Foss Grove Path in Inglis, according to a news release from the CCSO.
Divers recovered his remains from the Withlachoochee River. "For the last four days the Citrus County Sheriff's office, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conversation Commission, Find-m' Friends, and the Pasco County Sheriff's Office utilized every means possible to locate Mr. Kiggans," the news release said. "This is not how we want any search to end," the release quoted Sheriff Mike Prendergast as saying. "We are truly sorry for the family's loss."
