Bicyclist Seriously Hurt in Hudson When Struck by Ambulance

Hudson, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - A woman riding a bicycle suffered serious injuries when she got hit by a Pasco Fire Rescue ambulance Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Katherine Stafford, 48, rode on Fivay Road near Lakeside Woodlands Drive just after 10 p.m. when the marked ambulance's side mirror clipped her as it passed, according to an FHP crash report. The ambulance driver did not see the bike, troopers said, because Stafford wore dark clothes and did not have lights on her bike, as required by law.
