Adam Putnam Trades Politics for a Duck Blind

MEMPHIS (WFLA News) -- Fifth generation Floridian Adam Putnam is picking up stakes and moving from Bartow to Memphis, Tennessee. The former Florida Agriculture Commissioner will become the CEO of Ducks Unlimited April 1st.

Putnam has been a member of the conservation group since he was 16. He says he'll work to build a coalition of hunters, farmers, veterans, city dwellers and scientists to protect water and wetlands for waterfowl. "As a lifelong hunter, angler and conservationist, I look forward to building on our record of success," Putnam said in a news release.

Putnam lost the Republican primary for governor to Ron DeSantis last year. He served five terms in the US House in his Polk County district.
