Florida Man Busted with Grenade Launcher by TSA at Pennsylvania Airport

ALLENTOWN, Pa (WFLA Newsradio) A Florida man was allowed to fly but lost his grenade launcher after trying to bring it through security at Lehigh Valley Airport Monday (March 4th).

The Transportation Security Administration says TSA officers opened the St. Augustine resident's bag and found unassembled parts of the launcher and grenade, including the barrel, trigger and sights.

TSA says the man told police he thought the launcher parts were allowed in checked luggage. No, they're not, says the TSA. The items were confiscated but he was allowed to fly to Orlando Sanford airport.

The TSA says people who bring weapons and replica weapons to the airport could be fined up to $13,000.
