FHP IDs Driver Blamed in Spectacular Hit-and-Run Sarasota Crash

Sarasota, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - The Florida Highway Patrol has arrested the man they blame for a spectacular crash Thursday that sent a car flipping through a motel parking lot, critically injuring the car's driver.

The FHP said in a news release that "after an exhaustive criminal investigation," it had determined that Zachari Brock, 24, of Bradenton drove the minivan that clipped Jackson Kelley's Audi A3 on US-41 and sent it rolling side-over-side across the parking lot of the Lanter Inn & Suites until it crashed into a concrete barrier and another car and landed on its roof.

Kelley, 19, also of Bradenton, remains in the hospital in critical condition. Charges against Brock include leaving the scene of a crash involving serious injury and driving with no valid license in a crash involving serious injury, both felonies.
