Drunk Wrong-Way Driver Causes Serious Tampa Crash

Tampa, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - A wrong-way driver, drunk at the time, caused a head-on crash that seriously injured three people in the vehicle he hit, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Christopher Lynn, 41, of Lakeland, drove north in the southbound lanes of US-301 near Harney Road just after midnight Sunday morning when his Toyota Tundra pickup truck collided with another Tundra pickup, according to a crash report from the FHP.

The other pickup's driver, Omar Mitchell, 71, of Lakeland, and two passengers - Mary Mitchell, 70, and Elizabeth Mitchell, 13 - all went to Tampa General Hospital in serious condition, according to the crash report. Lynn went to St. Joseph's Hospital in serious condition.
