Brian Dugan -Tampa Unveils New Program As Hurricane Season Approaches

Brian Dugan, Tampa Police Chief, joined AM Tampa Bay this morning to talk about Tampa's new program as 2019 Hurricane Season Approaches.

Hurricane season is three months away, and after the State of Florida experienced a devastating 2018 season, it's essential to have a plan ready for you and your loved ones.

The City of Tampa announced a new program that can make the recovery process easier.

Starting Monday, March 4th color-coded hang tangs will be mailed out to over 70,000 residents and businesses in the area that would most likely have to evacuate during a storm.

You can keep these hang tags in your car so that if you did have to evacuate these tags will make the recovery process more efficient especially when trying to gain access to your property if there is mass destruction involved.

For this program to work, if you receive a tag make sure to put it in your car or a safe place to have in case of an emergency.
