Governor DeSantis Endorse Local Cops Helping ICE, Ending Sanctuary Cities

BROOKSVILLE (970 WFLA) -- Governor Ron DeSantis uses a news event in Brooksville to endorse a federal program that allows local law enforcement officers to act as ICE agents when dealing with illegal immigrants jailed in county facilities. The governor says the 287-G program trains and authorizes officers and deputies to identify and detain those breaking immigration and other laws.

The Governor also expressed his support for legislation to outlaw sanctuary cities that withhold cooperation with immigration authorities.
