Cops: Speeding Motorcyclist Crashes, Dies in St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, Fla. (Newsradio WFLA) - A man died after crashing his speeding motorcycle Saturday afternoon, St. Petersburg Police said. Maxwell William McMahan, 20, weaved through several cars on Central Ave. near Causeway Blvd. at about 4:50 p.m. before hitting the center median curb, according to a news release from St. Petersburg Police. The motorcycle spun, flipped and struck a pole. The impact threw McMahan from from the bike. He was pronounced dead at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
