Hillsborough Parks Rock

Plant City, Fla.-(2/3/2019)- Need a vacation, but don't have the cash to travel? Check out Hillsborough County's parks.

I recently visited my friends Jan and Dino at their campsite at Medard Park, just south of Plant City. They were testing out their new camper. My old friend John and his old lady were camping in a tent.

It was nice and quiet and just a few miles from noisy city life. I couldn't believe how nice the grounds were. There is even a lake with boat ramps and a fishing pier. It felt like you were actually somewhere in the mountains

I've spent a lot of money on vacations and haven't felt as relaxed as I did on my visit to Medard. There is a fee for a campsite, but it's a whole lot less than it would cost for a motel or to camp at one of those big parks in the Smokies.

I've lived in places where the only parks with camping were state parks and national parks. I applaud Hillsborough for operating and maintaining such a nice facility. So what are you waiting for? Get out and enjoy the great outdoors right here in good ole Hillsborough County.
