N. Redington Beach Crash Kills Pedestrian from Britain

North Redington Beach (Newsradio WFLA) - A man from Great Britain died when struck by a car as he tried to cross the street Friday night, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said. The 61-year-old was not in a crosswalk as he tried to cross Gulf Blvd. at about 11:18 p.m. when the Dodge Dart driven by Alex Lyons, 36, struck him, according to a news release from the PCSO. The pedestrian died later at a hospital. "Impairment and speed do not appear to be a factor in the crash," the news release said.
