Brooksville,Fla.(970 WFLA)-A Pasco County man is dead after a horrific incident in Hernando County. It happened Thursday afternoon at Brooksville-Tampa Bay Regional Airport.
Deputies say 62-year-old Salvatore Disi of Hudson was beheaded when he was hit by helicopter blades. A witness says he and Disi were using a power cart to jumpstart a helicopter when, for an unknown reason, the helicopter suddenly jerked up and then came down. This motion caused the main rotor blades to strike Disi, in the head.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
