Cops Save Man in Fiery Daytona Wrong Way Crash

EDGEWATER, FL (970 WFLA) -- I-95 near Daytona Beach was shut down for hours Wednesday after a fiery wrong way crash.  Two law enforcement officers risked their lives to drag a driver out of the burning wreckage, early Wednesday morning.

A Volusia County sheriff's deputy and a police officer from the town of Edgewater rescued 22 year old Logan Aschendorf of Boca Raton. He was southbound on 95 when a car going the wrong way slammed into his SUV. Aschendorf is hospitalized in Orlando.

FHP says the other driver,  23 year old Devon Standish of Daytona Beach, died at the scene.

It's not clear why he was going the wrong way... toxicology results are pending.
