Sarasota County Paramedics Shot At Responding To Early Morning Call

Sarasota, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Two Sarasota County Paramedics were shot at this morning, after  answering a routine call that someone had fallen.   But the resident at the address in the 2000 block of Goodrich Avenue said they didn't call EMS.

As the two were returning to the ambulance, they came under fire.  Sarasota Deputy Police Chief Pat Robertson says,  no one was injured, but the ambulance was hit by the gunfire and had minor damage.

The suspect only described as wearing a hoodie.  Deputy Chief Robertson says  Sarasota Police will  back up paramedics on calls, until the investigation is over.
