The Lakeland Police Department has released surveillance video of an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old early Wednesday morning.
Michael Taylor was shot after police say he tried to drive over an officer outside Salem's, a nightclub on North Florida Avenue and Memorial Boulevard.
The video shows a car winding through a crowded parking lot, refusing to stop and nearly running over a police officer. Police initially approached that car because they identified it as stolen. Investigators say three officers yelled for Taylor to stop and were forced to open fire.
The car eventually careened into a nearby business.
