Shooting Inside Car in St. Petersburg Kills Girl

St. Petersburg, Fla. (970 WFLA) - An apparent accidental shooting inside a car early Sunday left a teenage girl dead and a young woman jailed on manslaughter charges, St. Petersburg Police said. The arrest report says that Jessica Perry, 21, admitted that she inadvertently fired a handgun inside the car near Central Ave. and 58th St. South at about 2:25 a.m. The bullet struck and killed a 17-year-old girl riding in the car. Perry faces a manslaughter charge. Police had not released the victim's name early Sunday afternoon because they had not yet notified her relatives.
