Pinellas County, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Holidays mean gatherings with friends and family that often include alcohol. Cops know this, and they patrol looking for drunk drivers. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, with city police agencies across the county, did a DUI enforcement patrol overnight Friday into Saturday morning that netted 22 DUI arrests, according to a news release from the PCSO.
They also arrested three people for possessing drugs, and caught three others driving without a valid license.
According to the release: "The operation was part of the sheriff's office on-going commitment to reduce deaths, injuries, and property damage associated with traffic crashes related to impaired driving. the goal is to educate drivers and create public awareness about the dangers of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and any chemical or controlled substances."
