Sarasota, Fla. (970 WFLA)-A big round-up in Sarasota of suspected street-level drug dealers.
Sarasota Police Chief Bernadette Dipino says the arrests of 35 people will not only mean fewer illegal drugs on the streets, but crime in general.
During Tuesday’s news conference, Chief Dipino had a message for drug dealers, “We are going to find you. We are going to arrest you. We are going to bring you to justice. We ask you to stop dealing drugs in our community.” “If you’re a drug dealer, find another line of work. You’re not going to sell drugs in our community.”
Operation Rock Solid took place over approximately 4 months, culminating in October 2018. Two firearms were seized.
