Tampa Bay Rays owner Stuart Sternberg says you can take the Ybor City stadium deal off the table.
He says the deal has basically collapsed as the Rays face a December 31st deadline on the city of St. Pete's agreement to allow the Rays to secure a Tampa stadium site.
Now, Sternberg says it's back to the drawing board. He insists he's still committed to keeping the team ijn the Tampa Bay area.
Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred sent a letter to Sternberg, critical of the Ybor stadium process. Last week, Hillsborough County Administrator Mike Merrill presented the county's stadium proposal that includes no tax money and requires the Rays to pay at least 50-percent of the stadium costs.
