MILWAUKEE (970 WFLA) -- The Tampa Bay area is expected to be a national leader in job creation going into the new year, according to a new employment survey out this (Tuesday) morning.
Staffing firm Manpower says the job market in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties will be among the strongest in the country during the first quarter. It says 33 percent of local employers surveyed plan to add jobs, while only two percent are planning cutbacks... leading to a Net Employment Index of 31 percent. The other 65 percent of businesses plan to stick with what they've got.
Fort Myers and Daytona Beach are also expected to have exceptionally strong job markets this November.
Nationwide, Manpower says job hiring intentions are at a 12 year high. Its economists believe the U-S is likely to hit 100 consecutive months of job growth... more than eight years... in January.
