Zephyrhills, Fla. (970 WFLA) - A drunk driver ran off the road and a passenger in her car died in the ensuing crash into a tree early Saturday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Diana Canon, 22, of Brooksville drove east on Chancy Road approaching Foxwood Boulevard when her car left the road and struck a tree at about 2:18 a.m., according to a news release from the FHP.
Jose Jiminez, 35, of Land O Lakes died later at a hospital from his injuries. Troopers say alcohol contributed to the crash and charges are pending against Canon.
