North Port,Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Sarasota County Deputies have made an arrest in the theft of weapons and other items from a patrol car at Detective Brian Keane's home here. Investigators now say 18 year-old David Byrd of Manatee County is facing a long list of charges.
Deputies have also recovered a sniper rifle that was stolen from the deputy's car, but continue to look for a 9MM pistol that was also stolen.
While deputies continue to investigate the theft, Keane is facing an internal affairs investigation after the weapons were stolen from his unlocked car.
