Hillsborough Opening Cold Weather Shelters

Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Hillsborough County is opening cold weather shelters tonight as temperatures drop.  Forecasters expect overnight lows to dip into the upper 30s or low 40s around here.

Individuals, including pet owners, who need transportation to one of the shelters should call the Hillsborough County Sunshine Line at (813)-272-7272.

Shelters open are the Hyde Park United Methodist Church on West Platt Street in Tampa, The Jackson Springs Recreation Center on Jackson Springs Road in Town and Country (pet friendly), the Wimauma Senior Center on North Street in Wimauma and The Salvation Army on North Florida Avenue in Tampa.

Families can get motel vouchers at Metropolitan Ministries on North Florida Avenue in Tampa.
