New Port Richey, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Pasco County deputies say that report of an attempted kidnapping in the Moon Lakes Estates area was a big fat lie.
Investigators say the ten year-old girl made up the story after a friend dared her to do it. The girl even described the man well enough for deputies to issue a sketch of the suspect.
The girl had told deputies that a man in a car pulled up and told the child he was a friend of her mom's, and that he was going to take her to get candy and ice cream. The girl claimed that she ran away after the man didn't know a family password.
Deputies have decided not to file charges against the girl because she is only ten.
