Pot-Laced Gummy Bears Sicken Mulberry Students

Mulberry, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Polk County deputies are investigating an incident at Mulberry Middle School after seven students got sick after eating marijuana-laced gummy bear candy.

Polk County Fire-Rescue says five students were transported to the hospital.  Two other students were picked up by their parents to be checked out by their family doctors..

Sheriff Grady Judd says "We have long been concerned about the dangers of marijuana-infused candy, and that it would get into the hands of, and poison, children. Here is an example of that."

Investigators say charges are pending in this case.
