Tampa, Fla.-(Newsradio 970 WFLA)-Triple A's latest gas price brief has fuel costs at their lowest level of 2018. The auto club is also forecasting gas prices to drop some more as we move through the week.
The Auto Club Group's Mark Jenkins says the gas price drop comes as the price of crude oil dropped more than 10 percent. The reason behind that drop is concern that strong global oil production will overpower demand.
The Florida average price of $2.43 per gallon is seven cents less than a week ago. The new average is also the lowest since December of 2017.
The most expensive gas prices in Florida are in Panama City at $2.79. The least expensive gas prices in the state are in the Tampa Bay area at $2.25.
